Cold or Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream and Sprinkles

Ingredients
Chocolate (choose one) (use non-dairy if preferred)
- 8 ounces hot chocolate
- 8 ounces chocolate milk
Make it mocha or minty (choose one) (optional)
- 1-2 tablespoons Kahlua (optional)
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon instant espresso powder (optional)
- 1/16 to 1/8 teaspoon mint extract (optional)
Whipped Topping
- whipped cream or non-dairy whipped topping
Sprinkles (choose one) (optional)
- candy sprinkles (optional)
- fresh grated nutmeg (use zester or other fine grater) (optional)
- grated chocolate (use zester or other fine grater) (optional)
- mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Put milk or hot chocolate in glass or mug
- If using a mocha or mint flavoring, mix it into the chocolate
- Top with whipped topping
- Add sprinkles (optional)
- Chocolate milk with green sprinkles.

- Chocolate milk with fresh grated nutmeg.

- Chocolate milk with grated chocolate.

- Hot chocolate with pastel sprinkles (no artificial color).

- Hot chocolate with grated chocolate.

Notes
If the hot chocolate is too hot to drink, wait for it to reach drinking temperature before you add the whipped topping so the whipped topping doesn’t melt before you enjoy it.
The right amount of mocha or mint flavor depends in part how rich your chocolate is, and it also depends on how much mocha or mint flavor you like.ย Start light and then add more if desired.
