Fourth of July Drinks

Iced Tea, Pineapple Punch and Lemon Slushie to be served on Fourth of Julyi

There is something for everyone in this selection of drink ideas for the Fourth of July. Unsweetened Iced Tea is a classic, low carb, low calorie option. Lemonade Slushie is cool, refreshing and fun. The Pisco Punch recipe offers the option to try something new.

It’s easy to purchase bottled iced tea, but it’s so much better to make your own. It takes very little time, you reduce packaging waste, and the homemade option costs a fraction of what you pay for prepared iced tea. Also, for anyone who is watching caffeine, when you make your own, you can use decaffeinated tea.

The attached Lemonade Slushie recipe creates a cool, crisp and citrusy treat. If anyone in your group prefers something sweeter, the recipe provides variations with more sugar.

The Pisco Punch recipe is based on a drink that is said to have been invented in the 1800’s, using pisco, pineapple and lime. I love the combination of pineapple and lime, and the attached recipe adjusts the traditional version to add more pineapple and lime to the pisco for a lighter and more refreshing option.

I humbly submit – I created a sophisticated mocktail topped with a bomb pop popsicle for a group I belong to. It was a great way to enjoy a kid’s treat, upscale! Happy 4th of July!
